Providing impeccable scoping & proofreading services to lighten your workload and give you back valuable time

It's difficult to spot errors in your own work. Hiring a scopist or proofreader means you get a fresh perspective on your transcripts and you can be sure that every formatting error and missed word or punctuation mark will be corrected so you can submit the absolute best version of your work.

By delegating scoping & proofreading to a professional, you can choose to take on more work or you can take time off to recharge! It takes those tasks off of your plate so you can spend more time doing what you love, whether that is work, rest, or play!

I know how important meeting deadlines is in the court reporting world. You will always receive prompt communication from me every step of the way to ensure that you get your completed transcripts exactly when you need them and not a minute later!

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in 2023, I moved across the country to Maine with my dog, Billie, in tow. After unexpectedly being laid off from my corporate job of 18.5 years, I decided to pivot in an entirely new direction!
As a lifelong lover of reading with a talent for spotting errors in text, proofreading comes very naturally to me. As a teen who never missed an episode of Ally McBeal, LOVED my Law & Justice and Medical Anatomy/Physiology classes, and who is now a true crime podcast-loving adult, legal transcript scoping & proofreading is the perfect combination of my interests and skills!
I graduated from Transcript Proofreading Academy and BeST Scoping Techniques with flying colors and have personally edited 1000s of pages of real-life legal transcripts. You can rest assured that I have the knowledge and expertise to return a transcript you'll be happy to put your name on!
So why Arden Transcript Services? The word "arden" has a few meanings. In English, it means "great forest" and comes from the Forest of Arden in the West Midlands of England. Arden may also come from the Hebrew word for the garden of Eden or "a place of great beauty and solitude." It's a little nod to my new home in Maine and the natural beauty I'm surrounded by here. I'm lucky I get to work with such a beautiful view!

I can highly recommend Amber!!! I am a reporter of 39 years, RPR & CRR, who recently connected with Amber after losing my proofreader of many years. Amber is dependable and communicative, gets the job done on time, and does an amazing job proofreading!
It's been so long since I've been caught up! You've helped so much with not only allowing me to get things out faster but catching mistakes. THANK YOU!! You are invaluable.

Contact me to confirm availability for scoping or proofreading. Let me know the type of testimony, number of pages, and required turnaround time.
I’ll reply to confirm whether I’m available. If you have a preference sheet, please send it over. If not, I may ask you to complete one or send a recent completed transcript so I can align with your preferences and style.
For scoping, transcripts are typically sent in their native format (e.g., Eclipse files) along with audio.
For proofreading, I can work directly in Eclipse or in standard 25-lines-per-page PDFs, depending on your workflow preference.
PDFs allow for clear annotations on the pages and lines where corrections apply, while Eclipse proofreading allows for edits directly within the transcript file.
Larger jobs can be sent in sections or all at once.
I’ll confirm receipt of your transcript and turnaround time. The turnaround clock begins once receipt is confirmed.
I’ll begin working on your transcript, following your preferences and style. Depending on the service, I will focus on:
I’ll reach out via email (or text, if preferred) with any questions. As we continue working together, I’ll become more familiar with your style and require fewer clarifications.
For scoping, I’ll return the edited transcript file.
For proofreading, I’ll return either annotated PDFs or edited Eclipse files, depending on how the job was received and your preference.
All work will be delivered by the agreed-upon deadline.
After delivery, feel free to reach out with any questions or feedback. Your input helps me refine my process and better match your preferences going forward.
I use Found for invoicing. For new clients, invoices are sent upon delivery and are due within 7 days.
Established clients are billed on the 1st of each month, with payment due within 10 days.
